Office of Research and Sponsored Programs
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP), a
department within Research Administration and Finance,
administers sponsored activities funded by federal, state, and
private agencies - from proposal development through award
close-out.
Among our goals is a commitment to minimize the administrative burden on
investigators while ensuring full
compliance with the
laws and regulations that govern their
sponsored programs.
ORSP's Project Officers assist established investigators,
junior faculty, and postdoctoral fellows in identifying funding opportunities and obtaining support for their research, training,
and public service projects. ORSP provides guidance
regarding application instructions, proposal and budget
development, and agency regulations. It also serves as the institutional
liaison with intramural offices and extramural sponsors.
ORSP staff works closely with administrators and
investigators to ensure that proposals comply with the sponsor's
and UCHC's
policies and procedures
-- prior to providing
institutional approval which is necessary for the submission of
applications.
ORSP also serves as the institutional office responsible for
managing the non-financial aspects of all grant and contract
awards; ORSP project officers assist department administrators and investigators with the
administration of their sponsored activity portfolios.
Members of the
ORSP team provide
the UCHC community with support, education, and
training related to grant-writing and electronic research
administration (eRA).
