InfoEd and Proposal Development

InfoEd's Proposal Development module has been phased in to the UConn Health Center research community and can only be used to develop NIH-bound proposals at this time. Our current version of InfoEd (v.11.801.01) supports system-to-system (S2S) transmission of all of the NIH mechanisms which have transitioned from paper to electronic filing via Grants.gov. Here is a partial list:

RC1 X01 R03 R13/U13 R13 R15
RC2 X02 R21 R21/R33 R25 R33
DP1 DP2 DP3 G08 G13 S10
    U18 U34 X01 SC1
    SC3 C06 G20 UC6

Adobe Forms and Grants.gov

Researchers will use the Grants.gov web portal to develop other Federal proposals requiring electronic submission with Adobe Forms through the Grants.gov system. Grants.gov also serves as the health center's contingency mechanism for submitting NIH proposals in the event that the InfoEd system should encounter technical difficulties. In order to use the grants.gov system, users must have a compatible version of either Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat Professional on their PC or Mac computer.

Adobe Reader 9.1 has been released, tested, and is compatible to use for Adobe Forms applications submitted to Grants.gov. For more information, please visit the Grants.gov FAQ section on Adobe Reader.

Training Resources for Researchers and Research Administrators

When watching the Proposal Development Training Video:

The interactive table of contents will not become functional until the file is 100 percent downloaded. This usually takes 4 to 5 minutes. You can monitor its status by viewing the ticker at the bottom of the video. To view the video in full screen mode, right-click your mouse on the video and select Zoom → Full Screen.
